The TD Centre in Toronto roof is now a field of creek sedge grass roof

A pity it cannot be accessed by the public though, for now only the birds do.

“Only radical thinking will solve environmental problems? (Globe and Mail)”

It says “the creativity gap – it’s not evidenced by a deficiency of good ideas…, (gap is) in rethinking systems”. But there is no creativity gap here – if every organization would
use ISO 14001 from greenmark.ca, we would be making a great leap forward, the easy,
fast, and inexpensive way -available to all!

“Innovation: It’s up to SME’s”

At the Canect show today I picked up the PLANT magazine, the editor says “government is betting on smaller enterprises to crank up Canada’s dismal innovation performance with their innovative spirit”.  ISO 14001 is a great way to spur creativity! Should qualify for SRED.

Nostalgia

Found a loose page in a book, and as I was going to toss it, noticed on the back the following note: “June 23 1009. Shirley, thank you so much for bringing your talents and heart to support GET with the fantastic EMS workshop. We look forward to a long and enjoyable collaboration! Chris Lowry”. I miss GET (Green Enterprise Toronto), does anyone else?

Lunch and Learn at the Center for Social Innovation:
Demystifying the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
The best way to fulfill our commitment to improving the environment in which we work is implementing an Environmental Management System (EMS). It gives us a systematic approach to plan, control, and measure, and improves our use of resources. Most importantly, an EMS helps avoid greenwashing, which is often unintentional.
What EMS to use? The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System is arguably the best EMS around. It is also the official Canadian and International Standard. It encourages organizations to do their own EMS and self-declare conforming to the Standard.
To learn what the ISO 14001 is, and to get acquainted with new methods of doing it in
a thorough, affordable, fast and fun (yes, fun) way, join us for this presentation. The presenter, Shirley Segev, is an ISO practitioner who helped many organizations create their ISO 14001 EMS, as well as individuals who want to learn about ISO 14001.
